Unfortunately The government and society as a whole believe that Healthcare is fixing existing problems. I think we are seeing a shift in patients wanting to prevent problems and taking personal responsibility towards that goal. Its a long road and it starts with us!

I agree with Linda. I think the first article in any health care reform is to ban advertising by drug companies. Drug ads give people the idea that anything can and should be fixed with drugs, whereas the research shows that many of our problems are due to lifestyle. If people would get off their fat rear ends, eat real food, get regular chiropractic adjustments and massage, stop smoking, etc, we would be a lot healthier as a nation, but the way "health care" is provided and apid for gives no incentive to either the patient or the doctor for lifestyle changes or education.

Drug companies should not be allowed to advertise to patients. The problems with overuse of prescription drugs is compounded when patients are now asking their doctors for specific medications because it was advertised on TV!

I agree with Dr. Muccillo. People should think twice about taking drugs that have terrible side effects. Drs. should be made to think about non-drug alternatives. Medicine today is done without much thought. Give the doctor a symptom and he/she gives you a drug. When was the last time the doctor gave you some advice other than take this drug??

I hope They ( THESE AD COMPANIES ) will get liscence to PRACTICE so that thay can diagnose and treat the patients too. AND let them compete with us (PHYSICIANS)
in the Health Care field. I am giving them open challenge for this competition . Let us see who can provide better treatment. Patients will provide their Judgement. Only then I can say, these ads are worth on TV or on WEB /internt.. If they can not do this then they sould leave us alone. To make money there are lots other ways not misguiding the patients and making the patients more confused. We , specially, PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS have enough work to do imposed either by Insureance companies or some new policy makers.
Thanks
